What's A Survivalist?

I've found that a Survivalist is someone with a "can-do" attitude that believes that they can survive any situation by being self-reliant. In a catastrophic event, he wants to be able to live on the least amount of supplies as possible by learning to live and survive off of his environment. Survivalists plan to be ready to leave at a moment's notice to escape to a safe haven or a safer location. They have all that they need with them and will use what they have at hand when they get to where they're going.

The Perfect Gift

So, the best gifts for Survivalists are tools that they can add to their gear that will fit into their survival plan or a tool they need that they don't have in their gear. Here are the top ten gifts for survivalists that will make them happy.

SHTF Survival Guide

Survivalists like to cultivate knowledge that they can put into practice in a survival situation. One of the best ways is having a resource like the SHTF Survival Guide, which covers the most basic steps of survival and features detailed illustrations, instructions and important tips. To make it easy to find the information that you're looking for quickly, it's divided into yellow-tabbed chapters. The compact size of the soft-cover book makes it easy to drop in a bug-out bag.

Small Animal Survival Snare Kit

Having a way to procure food when you're surviving in the wilderness is a top priority. A survivalist will appreciate a Small Animal Survival Snare Kit for its ease to set-up and that it takes up almost no room in their bag or backpack. The kit includes three snares, each made with 36" of 7x7 strand 1/16" cable with a 480-lb holding strength and a lock that will firmly hold any snared animal. The snares are for catching small prey like rabbits and squirrels, as well as, slightly larger animals like groundhogs or opossums.

The scanner is lightweight and has a backlight display that's easy to read even in low light conditions. It comes with a USB charging cable.
