Binary Triggers Are Lightning Fast
Binary Triggers Are Lightning Fast

Priding themselves on designing and manufacturing their products in the USA, Franklin Armory puts out high-quality firearms and accessories for sporting, military and law enforcement. Known for innovative designs that are completely customer driven, one of their most impressive innovations is the Binary Firing System (BFSIII). Actually, coining the term “binary trigger”, the company released the first BFSIII, in 2015, for the AR platform. If you haven’t heard of the binary trigger, then the first thing that you need to know is that it’s lighting fast, and you absolutely need it!
Basically, a binary trigger is an easy-to-install, drop-in trigger to upgrade your firearm with, so that you can come as close as possible to firing a semi-automatic on full-auto fire. Since it functions like a fast-pulled trigger would, it is still within the legal limits of federal law. However, do be aware that state laws may be different.
With patented construction and design, Franklin Armory’s BFSIII triggers have three positions, giving you complete versatility. The three-mode safety selector includes safe, semi for semiautomatic and binary. In binary mode, the firearm will fire one round on the pull of the trigger and one round on the release of the trigger, making it the fastest semi-automatic trigger on the market. A great feature is that the release round can be canceled by simply moving the selector out of the binary mode while holding the trigger back. Because it provides greatly reduced split times between rounds and the ability to place two separate shots into a tighter group, it’s ideal for recreational, tactical and competition use.
The original BFSIII can be used with an AR10 (308WIN), AR15 and pistol caliber carbines. It also works on both 9mm and .22LR uppers without modification. No backup disconnector is needed, and a strong buffer spring is included with the trigger system. After the release, in 2015, the company has continued to successfully release binary triggers for other firearm platforms like the BFSIII for the AK Platform and the BFSIII for the CZ Scorpion, which are also easy-to-install.
One of Franklin Armory’s new triggers is the BFSIII for 10/22 Style Firearms, which was introduced in 2020 and is the ultimate .22 plinker upgrade! It will work in most 10/22 firearms and gunsmith installation is actually recommended for this binary trigger.
