This is Anduril, the sword of King Elessar of Gondor from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Anduril was forged from the shards of the sword Narsil, carried by Aragorn, the heir to the throne of Gondor. Aragorn wielded Anduril against the forces of Sauron and assumed the name of Elessar once the final victory was won. United Cutlery, industry leader in fine movie reproductions, has meticulously recreated the actual filming prop using only the finest grade materials and craftsmanship. Close attention to detail was a top priority.

This is a real sword, except for the false-edge blade.

I thought the Anduril Sword of King Elessar that I ordered would have the sharp edge blade as it was supposedly before United Cutlery began the false-edge blades on reproduction swords.

Beautiful!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and I can honestly say I was super impressed. To be honest, I was a little skeptical at first when purchasing because I was worried about the quality. The sword is absolutely beautiful and is extremely high quality. The wooden plaque that comes with it really adds to the elegance of the sword. I couldn’t find one flaw on the whole thing because it was so well made. I would highly recommend getting this if you are looking to collect because it is worth every penny spent.

Finally bought one

One of the few I've never been too compelled to buy. But was one of the very few I had left to buy so I finally got it. I ordered on Friday and selected the $5 Friday standard ground shipping service code.... When I got home from work Saturday it had already arrived. So... Wow and thanks, usually just living 2 hours from Moultrie FedEx takes about a week to get me anything I buy. Looking at you Ellenwood..... Anyway the sword, I usually get one of the 100 that will have issues, but nothing like that for once. Other than the blade needing some cleaning it was fine, I'm noticing these newer production swords are alot lighter than prebankruptcy UC. This thing weighs about 1/2 of what Narsil weighs. The grips are no longer actual leather, some faux material gives it that look to a degree, but next to Narsil and Shards of Narsil you can tell. It still looks good. The etchings in the blade are prominent and clean. Was surprised to see these still coming with a graphic sleeve over the box as well, thought that was done away with? All that being said, if you don't have Narsil or Shards, this item is a good start and recommended.

The best

I absolutely love this sword! It looks just like the one in the movie, and has some weight to it. It was the highlight of my Christmas!!

Very nice piece

The MUST HAVE for any LOTR fan. The attention to detail is quite good and much better than the cheaper knock offs. Sword has a good weight to it and it's pretty long. Looks great hanging on my wall. Definitely a sword to add to your collection.

Legendary

Hardcore sword collectors call unsharpened stainless ornamental replicas like this "sword-like objects" because they are really nothing like functional blades. However, I find it is quite easy to appreciate this sword as what it is: the most legendary weapon in the Tolkein saga brought to life on the walls of my home. It fulfills its role of satisfying the kid in me with excellence. My only complaint is United seems not to polish any of their swords during the manufacturing process so they are usually murky and smudged out of the box. But even cheap metal polish will clean it up and have it looking spotless and fit for the king of Gondor.

Perfect

The sword is very beautiful but not sharp at all I would have it sharpened but I would fear it make scratch or imperfect the perfect blade. The scabbard does a great job of transporting the sword but the handle of the sword is so heavy it make the scabbard awkward to wear, this is a very good sword for display, not wearable or useable.

Fantastic!

At 56 years old it's not too often that I feel like a kid at Christmas. Okay, it's not exactly Christmas (it's September) but I feel just as excited holding my new Anduril sword up high with both hands and staring at it in awe. It really helps me live the LOTR fantasy. This thing is a work of art and well worth every penny. Thank you so much to United Cutlery for making it available. Now I'm going to order the scabbard and then for Christmas I'm getting Gandalf's sword Glamdring.....although I probably won't be able to wait that long. Roger Sargent
