Serbian Surplus Military Complete Mess Kit

I received my mess kit a couple of weeks ago. Like another reviewer the canteen cap was broken. I sent an email to Kadels and then sent me another mess kit. No problem. Received it today in good order. This mess kit is surplus and like most surplus items it needs to be cleaned. The cover goes into the washing machine and the rest into the dishwasher on the top shelf. I like mine and I think you will like yours. I will probably buy a couple of more.

Kits (2) arrived as advertised. The plastic material is somewhat more brittle than other plastics you find in outdoor uses; the cap attachment on one canteen cracked in half the first opening. I also noticed that the container cups had tiny cracks in them that only became apparent when I filled them. The utensils are large, strong and well made- very pleased. The canteen and large metal cooking cup are of good quality and will give good service. I like it.

I got my Serbian Mess Kit today and honestly, I'm impressed. Its small and compact perfect for your bug out bag. Mine has a little bit of a smell to it but with a little bit of soap and/or bleach it should come out clean. I would highly recommend this kit to any one who is preparing for the worst. You cant feed everyone with this set but you can feed yourself. I may purchase another one very soon just to have a spare kit to use around the fire at home.

even though the case it came in smelled moldy and musty everything was there and useable had to wash everything to make sure it was clean but you should do this to begin with
