Better than the other hollow-handle knife I got.

I got one of these a while back from a scratch and dent mystery bag. I think the compass was missing, and the rollpin looked slightly bent, but at least it actually HAD a rollpin holding the blade in place. So I'm not worried about the blade flying off mid-chop and maiming or killing some bystander. That said, it's still just one rollpin in there. So while this can endure more basic chopping than the Amazon Jungle Survivor Bowie, I'd still advise caution. Odds are, it doesn't have an unlimited lifespan. If you use it sparingly, though, it should serve you at least fairly well. That coupled with its price makes for a very agreeable value to me.

Was looking for a good hollow handle knife...didn't know it had a sharping stone under the para cord wrap around it...didn't know until I read the reviews so I still didn't unwrap it but this is a great knife, looks good & strong for a hollow handle knife,I love it....For the price I would buy it.......

What a Beast!

Impressed from the moment I opened the box. Very large, heavy duty tactical knife. Very durable molded sheath with Paracord wrap and storage for 4 rounds of rifle ammo of choice. Great buy, I highly recommend this impressive knife!

Back for another

Even though these are not full tang they are still really good knives for the price. A good knife to throw in a basic field kit. Making this knife solid is as easy as buying some epoxy or J.B. WELD like others say. This knife is similar to a survival knife made by Kershaw that is now discontinued. R.G.

I bought two of these. Had to replace the tension pin on one. It had sharp edges. Otherwise, very happy with this knife. Its unique design makes the blade attachment very strong, unlike other knives with hollow handles. The blade is securely seated in the handle and then pinned securely to the handle. I don't foresee any problems using it.

works good

I left a review but it has not been posted. As I said in the first review I cut a nail almost the width of the roll pin in the handle and put it in the roll pin and filled the roll pin with Jb Weld. I put about 1/2 to3/4 in. of JBW in the bottom of the handle. Looking where the blade meets the handle on the outside it appears that the blade has been epoxied as well as secured by the handle casting and roll pin. Like one of the other reviewers I always question how durable hollow handled knives are. I let the JBW cure and tried it out. I live on the edge of a woods with branches hanging into my yard. I thought if it was going to break I would rather have it break in my back yard rather than elsewhere. I'm a pretty strong guy and I started whacking branches to remove them, the branches were 1"-2" in dia.. A 2 in. branch takes quite a few whacks to cut off so I gave the knife a good work out. The knife worked fine, did not loosen or break. Simple truth is this is a great survival knife, great sheath than can hold 4 rifle rounds and the hollow handle for fishing gear. For $13.00 you can"t go wrong. ( I bought two) I'm a NRA life member too and everyone should join NRA to protect our 2nd Amen. rights

Seems solid

I am suspicious of the strength of all hollow handle survival type knives even though I like them! That said, I own this knife, I like it, and it seems very strong.

Good knife & the NRA together!

I like this knife. I like the NRA. How could I not buy it? Seriously. this is a good knife for my purposes. For that once in awhile camping trip, or when out hunting, this is the knife for me. The non slip grip fits the hand well. The hollow handle with compass is very useful. I am quite happy with this knife.
