This is a great little kit, but in order to fit everything into the buttstock, you need to know a few tricks. First, the handle goes into the empty end of the oiler. Pack a couple of cleaning patches in behind it or it'll rattle. Roll up the bore brush in some aluminum (cigarette pack) foil to keep it from snagging on the fabric pouch. The small grease cup (not included) fits in the remaining free space atop the rod bag. Pack cleaning patches in the remaining free space, but make sure the door still closes. I'm very pleased with this kit.
This is a serviceable facsimile of a US government later issue butt stock cleaning kit for the M1 Garand. I purchased this item mainly for a display item and it will serve that purpose without issue. In the kit I received, the threaded portion of the bore brush was too large for the cleaning rod and would not screw into it. I used a tap and die set and re-threaded the aluminum portion of the bore brush to the correct 8x32 thread pitch. Not a hard task, but it should not have been necessary. If one actually purchases this item to clean a rifle, be prepared to purchase a bore brush that will fit the cleaning rod.
Everything works good just what i needed to brake her down.
