Great all-around value in a big blade. Blade is a good quality carbon steel with some heft, but not too heavy. The high carbon blade requires some attention to maintain, but the added blade coating will help with that. The knife is well designed for punishment with a tough, grippy handle that's practical for hours of work with bush-craft or building primitive shelters. Not fancy, but dependable and I really like the look of it as well. It's too bad this knife didn't come with a nice leather sheath like it's sister knife, the Condor Moonshiner. The nylon sheath it comes in doesn't match the quality standard of the knife and seems a bit like it was thrown in as an afterthought. The sheath works, but I don't expect it to hold up under really hard use. The blade alone is worth every penny though. I expect I'll put hard hours into this knife for a long time. This knife is an equal to the big knives that run 2-4 times the price.
This is not my first big knife, but it is the biggest value I've found in a big 'quality' knife. This Condor is a really great value compared to the other 'big name' brands and knife models out there. I keep saying big as this is a big knife. At 14.75" overall length, and slightly over 9" blade, yeah this is a big knife. My actual knife specs are: blade thickness of .203", just over 5mm thick, and blade width of 2.02". The weight of mine is exactly 20.02 oz. or 1.25 lbs. This Moonstalker feels lighter than it is, even with a slight weight balance towards the blade end which makes it really great at chopping. The sheath is heavy nylon with a polymer/plastic liner and a front snap pouch. Basic, but not bad. The black traction coating is nice if you want lower maintenance blade for rust, etc. The whole 'tactical' thing however is personal as this is a big heavy blade and not something you'd be crawling around with at night unless you were Rambo. The 1075 steel is a great choice for overall toughness. This blade is not going to break on you. The Moonstalker is a very cool design of traditional style blade with handle egronimoics at an affordable budget price unmatched for the quality level. Look at other similar quality knives, and you'll be back to buy this one. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I really like this knife!
