I've been a loyal subscriber to KOTM for a while now and every single product has been amazing. Until now. I feel like Budk ripped off their loyal customers and chose a cheap month for the item. The whole purpose is what, to teach us how to wrap? No thank you. I purchased KNIFE OF THE MONTH, not wrap of the month. I subscribed to get KNIVES and to further add to my collection. Don't ever do this to us again, Budk.
I received this knife as part of my Bud K monthly knife subscription. If the knife had come with the handle already wrapped, I would have shrugged and added it to my collection without bothering to review it. The blade portion is ok. It seems sturdy enough, but trying to wrap the handle was a nightmare.
My motivation for this review is the fact that Columbian Survival has done this knife on the cheap. Rather than pay someone who knows how to properly wrap the handle with the paracord, they decided to issue it as a kit. The instructions provided for wrapping the handle are sparse, poorly written, and confusing. The illustration of a finished knife is too small and too dark to provide any useful hints. Despite 3 tries, I barely had enough cord left over to tie a knot, never mind the wrist loop mentioned in the directions. If this knife had not been part of my subscription, I'd have packed it back up and returned it without screwing around with it.
If you must have a cord wrapped tanto, hunt for one that's already been wrapped by someone who knows what they are doing. This knife is a rip-off. Save your money and buy something else. On the basis of this offering, Columbian Survival has become a brand name to avoid.

Loving this knife. Good solid design nice weight and thickness. Gave it a few swings to test the blade and even threw it into a target a few times. Good balance and good resistance to rolling on the blade . Overall very happy with this knife and a pretty good price to boot
I got the knife as one of the knives of the month and I was very disappointed with it. The blade could have been sharper but the main issue is that you have to construct the handle yourself and when I buy a knife i expect to get the finished product, not some assembly required. It's not like I bought a couch or something. It was a very poor selection for the knife of the month, although all of the other knives I got through knife of the month have been good.
