As is no, this is not a functional thrower BUT, it's a Diamond in the ruff. It has a French Chippewa Bleeding Heart head. Remove it and remove the black paint and polish it as it would have been as a trading commodity used by the French. These heads were probably not handled when traded to the Chippewa. In the functional life of one of these tomahawk heads it would have been handled over and over again. So this piece is a very nice and inexpensive opportunity to make a tool that's yours in every way but the forging of the steel head. So many things here at Bud K, I purchase with the intention of modification to my person preferences. What a wonderful father and son project this would make.
Head breaks off the handle very easy.
I think this Tomahawk is a nice gift, or to make a plaque, or trophy with. It's not very sharp, I don't recommend throwing it, But if you're looking for something to hang on your wall, or maybe on your mantle, this is a great idea... Either way, don't be to discouraged by what you read in the reviews, I plan on making more purchases. Just use your imagination, I did.
The tomahawk is a great first time throwers choice, there cheap and easy to handle. They give you that old time feel if your just starting out, and the throw isn't to bad for cheap learning gear. The only thing id suggest to be aware of is that these come factor sharp so you may have to sharpen the head before use to get the right bite when you throw.
They are ok. Gave them to my grandkids. does not come sharppened.
The Chippewa tomahawk break very easy when you throw them.
