I have one of these it is old the blade was broken and the handle is badly scared. It has been this way for a long time. The other day I came across this knife in my basement and decided it was just to good a knife not to get it fixed so I called Buck knives service department. I was told to send them the knife with $10 and they would replace the blade and polish the handle out to as close to new as they can get it and then return it to me. What an incredible deal. BUCK KNIVES ARE WARRANTED FOR LIFE. What a great company. You can't go wrong with a BUCK KNIFE!!!
I HAVE A 1974 BUCK 110 THAT I GOT FROM A CAR SALESMAN FRIEND IN 1999 I TRADED MY BRAND NEW ONE TO GET HIS OLD ONE THAT HAD 440C STEEL BLADE WICH BUCK USED AT THAT TIME . THAT KNIFE WAS TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD THEN AND IT STILL HAS THE ORIG SHEATH WITH IT . I ALSO OWN A 2012 110 THAT I ORDERED FROM THE BUCK SITE IN JANUARY 2013 AND CARRIED IT EVERYDAY SINCE THEN I USED IT ALL HUNTING SEASON LAST YEAR ALONG WITH A COUPLE OTHER FIXED BLADE BUCK KNIVES. FOR 2014 BUCK IS MAKING A 50 YEAR EDITION 110 THAT I ORDERED AND JUST GOT NOW I AM CARRING THE 50 YR 110 NOW . I FIGURED EVEN IF I CARRY THE 50 YR EDITION 110 BY HAVING THE ORIG BOX AND PAPERS EVEN IF I SHARPEN IT I WILL STILL BE ABLE TO DOUBLE MY MONEY IN 20 OR 30 YRS DOWN THE ROAD.I PLAN ON USING MY REGULAR 2012 110 AND THE 50 YR 110 BOTH . I AM A BIG FAN OF THE BUCK 110 I WOULD SUGGEST A NICE 110 TO ANYONE THE 50 YR 110 HAS DIFFERANT COLOR WOOD, 50 YR BLADE STAMP AND 50 YR SHIELD ON THE WOOD HANDLE AS WELL.
This knife is and will be the finest knife you will find. Great craftsmanship, great steel keeps a edge.Beautiful hardwood handle. Solid brass bolsters and pins. I wish all knifes sold in the USA were of this fine caliber. This is a lifetime keeper. Something you would be proud to pass down to your son or grandson. A memory maker. I am proud to own a Buck Knife and you will be too.
This is the one knife to have if you can only have one knife. it is the definition of reliable with a solid lock and hold a sharp blade forever. I have used it by itself to field dress a large elk and while it will not split the ribs or pelvis it is good for everything up to that.
I got this knife a while back, and it is still one of my favorite knives. It is heavy, sturdy, and very dependable. The lock is very safe/strong and the pins/screws stay in (no need to worry about them falling out). The blade in this knife is the sharpest out of all of my other knives, and I have a lot of other knives. It is so sharp that I've cut myself on accident (multiple times) when I just brushed it against my skin. The sheath is pretty good, mine is still together and sturdy as ever, so you don't need to worry about that. It is made out of a good material that (I think) is mostly waterproof. It secures nicely to a belt. All in all, this is a great buy. The knife will last a lot longer than any cheaper knife, and it is made in the USA (wooooo!).
I have a Buck 110 made 74-80 traded a brand new 1999 model to my friend for his old one back in 1999 I have used the old one squirrel and deer hunting I used it on my very first deer in 2007. Just bought a brand new Buck 110 from their site had a 25% discount they sent me for accident sending me the wrong hunting knife they sent the correct one. I used the 25% card and bought my new 110 just got it have not had a chance to use it yet but I do have it on my belt. With discount it only cost me $60.29 instead of $80 the new one is 420 HC steel my old one from 74-80 is made from 440C steel I have no trouble getting the old 440C steel sharp at all and have no trouble getting the 420HC sharp either. My brand new one by referring to date code on blade my new one is a 2012 model year. The BUCK 110 is a tank if you take care of it the knife will take care of you with proper sharpening and keeping it oiled it will stay looking good even though it gets used for hunting. When I talked to Buck customer service rep they told me when storing it to keep it out of the sheath so it does not draw moister and it will keep it like new and keep the leather sheath treated twice a year with leather conditioner it will cost $10 for a big bottle and will last a long time. I am going to buy my 16 year old cousin a 110 as a birthday gift this year that way he will always have a good USA made hunting knives that will last him a long time .
I couldn't believe there was only one review for this classic lock-back folder! The Buck 110 has been around for ages and I have used mine for hiking, hunting, camping, and field dressing game from squirrel, rabbit, to several Buck deer! Sure, the new rage is the fast, one handed operation liner-lock knives but for pure strength and versatility the Buck 110 beats them all. The blade is sharp and stays that way and it locks up like a bank fault and the thick leather sheath belt pouch is top quality like the knife and will last a lifetime. This lock back 110 will be handed down to your son and then your son will hand it down to his son. The guy that lost his Buck in the trash (review below) is STILL crying his eyes out! I can assure you and I'd bet my house that he ran out and bought a new one. Once you have a Buck 110 you can't live without it, trust me. They are that good!
The first knife I've ever owned I've had it for going on six years now and still use it. The lock is the strongest one I've ever seen on any knife and its sharp too. Its also extremely reliable my dad was a trash man and that's were he found it in the trash and to this day its still one of the best knifes that I own completely and totally worth the price listed above. Buy it up now.
