Great knife has good weight to it nice g10 scales. There is awsome lock up and little blade play. Only complaint is all of the screws on the scales. But besides that love it!!
I was looking for an inexpensive EDC knife that would take all the punishment any emergency could deal out, but that would not be so expensive or beautiful that I would be afraid to do whatever necessary to preserve life or limb. I have literally lost count of all of the Cold Steel, Ka-Bar, USA made SOGs and Bucks I own. All specialized, all costly, all beautiful and not one I'm willing to use as a piton if I have to. Enter the Magnum line by Boker Solingen. I love it when someone buys a $15 knife that, for all intents and purposes is a Maserati and then complains that it "took an hour to sharpen"or "has a cheap sheath". Well, this $16.99 knife was as sharp of the box as my Cold Steel Recon-1,my classic Buck canoe knife,my Ka-Bar heavy bowie or my $900 set of Dick chef knives-they all shave hair and have a ripple-free fine quality edge. So far so good. The steel is not quite as nice or workable as AUS 8-A, but AUS 6 will do the G-10 scales were a very nice surprise and textured to a fantastic "grippy-ness". I'm not real fond of liner locks, although, strictly speaking the Bulldog is a frame lock. The grips are a little "squared off" in the hand -in other words -the grips could have just a hint of rounding to make them more comfy, but that is why God invented 440-grit, or, I can just accept that it cost 17 bucks not $80 and be happy. It IS a little heavy for an EDC but it still weighs less than the Cold Steel Spartan ($99) and the blade is every bit as thick, sturdy and honest-to-gosh non-glare titanium (titanium, not sand blasted matte) coated. The pocket clip is good quality and holds with positive, but not too much tension. I hope that all the magnum series by Boker are this well made, but I just don't see how to give away this much high quality steel, workmanship and polymer for prices in the Magnum price point. I AM gonna buy a few more models just in case. I would give it a six if I could, and hope that the other models I try are half as good.
I like what I saw. A very strong pocket knife that is well suited to heavy chores. It arrived with a utility edge. After an hour or so it was quite sharp. I liked the design so well that I purchased two more for my sons. I think that this knife is a sleeper. It's waiting for you to need it.
This is a great knife for the price. Thick blade; great handle material. I bought 3 more as gifts.
Prepper alert! Knife people know how to sharpen a blade. I pulled this from the box and had it snatched from my hand by my wife who gets to kitchen test all possible camp knives before I try to destroy them. It is a good solid working knife that took everything that we could throw at it. Form follows function, and if it functions well it is automatically a thing of beauty, ask any ex-military. This is a real tool, for real world work. It's not tricked out, cheapened out, or painted black to impress. Just like a Warthog, it does what it's supposed to do and do it well. Fifteen minutes with a couple of oil stones and we were shaving a pig with it. What more do you need? I bought 5 for gifts.
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SHOWPIECE KNIFE. WITH THAT SAID, I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE DULLNESS OF THE KNIFE. I CALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO RETURN OR EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER KNIFE.I WILL BE LOOKING AT BUYING ANOTHER KNIFE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I NEED SOMETHING TO CARRY WITH ME EVERYDAY. MOST LIKELY WILL BE TRYING OUT A SHRADE.
A GREAT knife and a GREAT Price, its pretty big as well and heavy duty. Boker Magnum turns out a GREAT product. Very simply, BUY IT..you cant go wrong. With one penny shipping its a heck of a deal.
Nice little black rectangle that grips your fingers straight out of the box. You flick it open and bam! A strong fat blade that you can put some cutting power behind. The point is aligned with the center of the whole knife and has a short faux edge rising to the top. When you wield this firecracker in your hand, your index finger slides back to the finger groove and the whole thing is just hungry for a chore. Blade says MAGNUM BY BOKER on front/back says 440 stainless China of course. Triangular screw holes for clip.
