Great quality but a tiny bit on the small side for my big ol' meat hooks. It is probably perfect for smaller hands. Still, it's a good quality karambit for the price. 5 stars for quality.
Received this karambit a couple weeks ago and it's performed great. The blade is razor sharp with a wicked point right out of the box. The sheath is nothing special, but it holds the knife securely. The rope isn't great, I have to grab the sheath when I want to draw the knife. But it works, and carrying without taking up a pocket is great. For $12, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Real good! It was on my wife's account, it's my birthday today! You're product is a superior brand!
You can't beat the value of this self defense knife, take time to learn how to best use it.
Don't let the price fool you. This is a very nice knife and is the perfect size for a lady's purse or a jean pocket.
This karambit is almost identical to the Honshu only smaller in size. The sheath is a hard plastic that fits over the blade but doesn't have a belt loop or clip. Great knife if you like the Honshu but don't want to spend the money (although I highly recommend the Honshu). Single side blade, hard molded plastic grip and sheath.
Black legion has been a manufacturer I have been satisfied overall with. The edge wasn't sharp enough for my preferences but the point had more than exceeded my expectations; and in spite of a low quality edge the knife very easily cut a thick cardboard box without much resistance without extra sharpening. The retention of the plastic sheath feels secure enough to carry as a neck knife and also feels very comfortable carrying inside the waistband. I think the steel is okay for it's job- you're not going to get everything for so cheap.
Just got this awesome knife from you guys for Christmas along with a Bowie knife. This karambit is sick and I love spinning it. It's sharp and has a nice feel to it. I can also use it as a good oversized neck knife. Thank you Budk!
It's just the right size and weight and it fits my hand perfectly. I like the holster, too. It snaps on.
It has nothing wrong with it. For the price it is exactly what you want. A good quality Karambit. I love the engraving service ad used it for this product. Thank you true swords
This thing is AWESOME!! Absolutely made for fighting and or self defense. I know a lady at work with the Honshu rainbow bladed version of this. But I like mine better. Probably because I didn't pay as much. Either way, this is a great knife. Get it! Thanks BudK!
Some say this knife is to big to be a neck knife but great way to conceal it. I find this knife to fit the hand very well with good control. I liked this knife even better once I touched the blade with a ceramic stone gave me a very sharp blade. On top of that after I bought the first one I ordered 2 more gave one to a friend the other a spare, Learn to use and control this knife it can be deadly results. Good Luck
this blade feels so good in my hand. It's slick, it's sharp and it is a quality piece of work. Any knife enthusiast would be thrilled to get this.
Great buy for 13 bucks. Feels really good in your hand. As previous review said, I also had to put a better edge on the blade, but it wasn't too much work. I like the sheath, just wish it had more carrying options. Overall, great buy,, pick it up while its on sale ;)
This knife Is great for the 12 dollar range! I love this knife, I wasnt disappointed with the sharpness one bit. I could sharpen it up right then and there! The Knife Is Just like the Honshu Karambit like the gentleman above/below said! The blade Is slightly more straight. None the less If you want this knife get it soon..
This knife is freakin insane for the price! It's just like the honshu karambit, but without the upgraded sheath the honshu has. You can tell the steel isn't as thick as the honshu, but it's sharp, comes with a lanyard, and will be a good defense knife for less than $10. You can't beat it! Get one now!
I am fully satisfied with this product. Sturdy Very sharp and fits nicely to the hand.
Knife is nice and you can easily sharpen the other side, but the necklace part isn't very good. It fell apart within a week for me, and I didn't wear it for much. It cant stay on during any quick movement.
the knife is good and sharp but sadly the case pops off way too easy and the rope of it gets cut off while the case is on. overall still a great purchase but its a super cheap case
These are nice little Karambits - especially for the price. I picked up 2 when the "free shipping" popped up and can't complain. It is the exact style of the Honshu as you can see and like the blurb says, it is large for a neck-knife. Not sure I would trust it in the sheath upside down, but it does hold well with a little bit of rattle. Have to figure a way to carry it. Totally dull, but no problem, we all can fix that. The tip is much more acute than you can tell from the photo - also not an issue for me since I got these to grind down to a 3" blade so I am within the law :) Gave it 4 stars because I wish the sheath had some way to actually carry this, but what can you expect for a $10 knife. 5 stars for the knife even though I will be modifying it!
I ordered it got it in 8 days, comes dull but easily sharpened. It's a good size and the pic does the knife justice
The knife itself is good, came fairly sharp out of the box, sharp enough to pierce the skin. I know from experience. There are some minor blemishes in the rubber on the handle, some areas that could be sanded down, etc. But I'd say the knife is a 4 out of 5 stars. The sheath isn't quite as good. It doesn't fit snugly enough, and the way the lanyard is threaded through the sheath, the knife rubs against it. The sheath is probably a 3 out of 5. Overall though, it's a good nice for the price.
I just got this knife, it came pretty sharp right out of the box, although it could use some sharpening. It looks and feels great in hand, and all together it is a great buy. p.s. the sheath is nice!
This is a great Karambit for the price. Pros: It fits well in most sizes of hands, it's well balanced, and looks awesome. Cons: There's a small hole in the sheath where the lanyard comes attached, however the tip of the blade cuts through the hole, which cuts the lanyard. The sheath also makes the blade dull easily if you aren't careful. It would be nice if the sheath had a clip attached to it. The handle is a bit thin for me as I have long fingers, but this was fixed with a paracord wrap. The blade won't hold an edge very long, but that's understandable considering the price.
The knife itself had a great handle to it; however, the knife needs to be a whole lot sharper. I found myself having to sharpen the blade almost immediately after taking the knife out of the box.
This is a great knife but it seriously needs to not be a neck knife it needs to have a sheath or holster to go on your belt
I'm a fan of karambits. The shape of them is just awsome. Not really sure how effective they will be but they do look nice. I had a different karambit with no rubber or anything on the handle. Didn't like it. The black Legion feels good in the hand. Thinking of sharpening the back end to.
Sweet looking Karambit, took advantage of the bogo special, however one of the karambits was a lot pointier and sharper then the other. The other one looked like they did a half-assed job, wasn't happy with that one.
This knife has many very nice features... The ergonomic handle has rubberized finger notches for great grip, a full tang with a striking node on the end, and your fingers can be displaced from a natural grip to enable customized striking with the hand just prior to cutting [such as administrating a ippon-ken]. On the spine of the handle there are other grooves which enable the user to fortify their striking and/or cutting tactics. Two of the grooves work in concert to create a guard so that the hand/fingers do not drop down on the blade surface itself [a very nice feature]. My fingers are somewhat short and fat so I was concerned that the thumb hole as described here was not going to be big enough; however my concerns where unjustified because there is ample room for my finger and fingers for those who have much larger fingers than I. The blade itself is tapered thickness and has a nice edge, however I will need to hone the edge because it does not have the level of sharpness that I expect from a knife of any sort. The sheath is a none glare plastic and has small friction-fit locks designed to keep the sheath on the blade. There is a lanyard provided that can fit through the eyehole of the sheath enabling you to hang the knife from the sheath around your neck. However having a lanyard around my neck is out of the question. Therefore, I would recommend it as a boot knife and to use the lanyard to fasten the sheath in place around your boot. I would have given this product 5 stars but the sheath issue and the edge sharpness made it loose a little of its rating with me.
Sent email 3 times to see if their product was compatible with my device!! No one ever responded until after I ordered their product. Then,to find out their product is NOT compatible at all!! Now they have ripped me off for s/h!! If they would have only answered in the beginning, this would not have happened..RIP OFF RIP OFF RIP OFF
For under 15 bucks, its not bad. Not on the same level as the United Cutlery Honshu (yes, I own one) like another review stated, but a good knife to try out to see if this type of knife is for you. Decent edge out of the box, mine did need some tip work (slightly blunt). If you want a better knife, go for the Honshu though- thicker, better steel, bigger handle with a much beefier/comfy grip (this one has a similar grip, but on a smaller scale with hard plastic handle)
This is a nice knife with a cheap price. When i got this knife, I immediately see its dull head. The blade point was dull, its not pointy, its is actually a very round circle. And the blade was not sharp at all. It cant even cut through paper, thin paper. So i have to sharpen it immediately. The knife fits well in my hands, and its feels good and looks cool. So other than those 2 problems, this knife is fine and nice.
The knife is nice and has a good case however it was so dull it would not even cut a plastic bag or even scratch the skin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been trying to sharpen it but the angle of the blade makes it difficult to get a true edge. Out of the box all you can really do is poke someone with it! When you get an edge on it its good but don't expect much out of the box.
