I bought this pen about 8 yrs ago because i used to walk home alone at night so a family member told me about the site so I bought and have only had to use it once . But I love it buying more for family and friends.
OMG I loved it at first when I first got it. It writes looks and feels like a typical pen but it's hidden knife inside. I bought it for protection when I have to walk home alone and trust me when I say every woman needs something like this in their life . It's so easy to use and hold.
this pen knife is very good! not only the design.. I also liked about the double function with pen and knife I recommend you guys to buy this one thing, don't try to put this under the water or it might get broke anyhow, buy this I'm pretty sure you'll love it! hahaha
AWESOME...I got this for my dad for fathers day and he loves it,was smaller than I thought it would be but it was built extremely well... I even dropped it to test andys review and it was still built to last!!!!! thanks budk
I bought one for myself to carry while at work. It looks and acts like a real pen, but with a little secret, a sharp nail file like knife inside. Highly recommended as a protection piece that isnt an obvious protection piece. Will buy more
I bought 25 of these for correct ion officers I work with, great conversational piece. The men thought they were so cool so I am ordering more today just for little gifts thru out the year.
Great product.<br />Placed order on Monday afternoon & got it the next day by 9.am. Amazing delivery time.<br />The pen writes nice & the knife inside is good too.
Wright's like a normal pen, The blade is not too sharp. At all really, but it is pretty good over all. The blades sharp-ness is my only problem and you can just sharpen it if needed.
Bought this pen knife and the 5 pack of ink refills. Not that I need the refills right away, as the ink cartridge that comes with it lasts a good long time. The knife blade itself..was sharp, not quite up to Mark's standards of sharp..but it was definitely sharp, a few strokes on my sharpener and it was up to and above Mark's standards of sharp. Would I buy another one? You betcha..gonna get the Red Maple one next. This pen knife "is" in my pocket every single day..at some point during the day you're gonna need a pen, at some point, you're also gonna need a knife. Well..this is a great way to carry out both tasks. You've got a great looking pen, with a hidden wicked little secret tucked up inside..very handy indeed.
The picture is a little misleading, but this pen is wonderful! The knife is a little smaller than I expected, and the pen is black with gold, kind of looks silver in the picture. The pen also writes very well.
Very well made for a $5 pen/knife. When its closed it feels very sturdy and like a real pen (well balanced). The gold plating is good too, feels like a $15-20 pen. The blade can be sharpened easily and is decent for basic needs. It does come out of the base of the pen however. Overall well worth the $4.99 :)<br /><br />I am a first time customer of TrueSwords.com and I was very pleased with their timely delivery and products.
These are very nice. I bought one just for kicks, and I was not disappointed. Writes well, although I am not sure how to change the ink yet. Overall a good buy
these are great man they're sharp, and very well concealed on top of that the thing writes. decent concealed defense.
perfectly disguised as pen, its even writes pretty well, although i dont recommend you use it to write... i will run out in one rough draft of writing an essay =D
Short story; very much by mistake, I stabbed my friend with this blade. Not in a stupid way, it was an honest mistake.<br /><br />THIS BLADE IS EXTREMELY SHARP!!!!, more so than any of the 5 swords, or 4 knives I've bought here. The blade is an interesting wedge shape.<br /><br />As long as I made the mistake, why not reference it. The blade entered straight, below his first and second fingers (at a downward angle to his up facing palm), very cleanly, and slid about 1/2 inch stopping at his bone, it immediately slid out, leaving a VERY small puncture (However, for about 3/4 inch following the blades internal path, there was severe external bruising). All in all, a very clean cut, with an easily deadly weapon.<br /><br />This blade is easily concealed, nobody would second guess this just being a pen. And it writes in black ball point ink.<br /><br />If you get this, BE VERY CAREFUL AND VERY SAFE!!!, leave it covered unless you need it.
This is a really cool item to have. Although I'm sure it wont write for very long, i didnt think it would write at all, so thats a plus. Nice blade inside and everything feels sturdy.
Cool Knife/Pen. I plan on buying more. You probably would not take it into battle but if you had nothing else it would be a good last chance item. This is excellent letter opener and finger nail cleaner too.
This is a great thing for anyone to own. It actually writes and the blade is quite sharp. Very cool.
Item appears to all intents and purposes to be a regular pen, however, a simple twist will separate it and reveal a thin 2.5 in blade that is better suited to sharpening pencils. Nevertheless, in an emergency might provide a deterrent or if used properly could inflict enough damage to ward off an attacker. It is primarily a knife so the actual pen part is only adequate with ink drying up intermittently.
Overall a good product. Don't expect it to be incredibly sharp, it wasn't built that way. Great as a fun and unique letter opener or conversation piece. Functions as a real pen and doesn't have bad ink. Don't drop it.
I bought one of these thinking, "For the price, I shouldn't expect much." I was shocked at how nice it looked when I opened it. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5, is the issues I have with the blade. I don't like the edge on it. It's sharpened only on one side, and the curve is way too steep. You would have to sharpen it all the time. The point of the blade however, was SUPER sharp. So that's cool I guess. I also didn't like the clip on it. I carry this pen in my pocket and after only a few times of wearing it, the clip became really loose and shaky. But what can I say, It's only 4 freakin' dollars. Buy one.
At first i was sort of hesitant of ordering this but after i got it i was very satisfied. its a really small one inch blade that fits into the pen. the pen also works as a normal pen. In the end its a cool tool to have around the office and i see myself getting more in the future because of the low price
I bought 6 of these for Christmas presents this year, and they were a big hit? The blade seems sturdy and sharp. They will be great for light use and letter opening. Plus they're just plain cool! The pen isn't the best pen, but it does work. So all in all, 4 stars.
Got this pen and was stoked as soon as i got it out writes well and it is sharp as you'd wish.
I wasn't expecting a whole lot for a few dollars, but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't think it is study enough for self defense, but for random cutting tasks it is great. I would highly recommend this knife, at this price buy one for every drawer. Expect to sharpen it when it comes, mine came pretty dull.
Only complaint is that I can't figure out how to refill the pen. Besides that the pen and knife is well built an both object work perfectly!
This is a fantastic pen knife for the price! The pen works well, and is very inconspicuous. The pocket clip fell off after a few weeks, and lasted a few more when I snapped it back in, but eventually fell off again and will not snap back on.
nice and sharp out of the box it looks like a dual sided but it is not the blade is as long as a index finger other than that it is a great pen and unique for pen collectors
An excellent gift for the ninja in anyone. Truly, the pen is mightier than the sword. The point is razor-sharp, while the blade edge is so-so. Rated 4 of 5 because I don't think you can change the ink if you actually use this is a pen. Atleast I haven't found a way to take it apart to change the ink...
I loved this pen. It works as a real pen but has a cool twist to it. It wrote well. Only thing is I went to put it in my shirt and dropped it once. Well when it hit the ground the tip broke off. I was highly disappointed. It's a all around good pen... Just don't drop it.
Had it for a while and i dropped it and the top part broke off no biggy the knife is great though for a little while.....
Good knife but does not write that well. I am going to look for a better ink cartridge. That makes the whole package not great considering the ink will be more than the knife.
Its an okay knife, and an okay pen. This does not make a pen-knife that is any better than 'okay.'<br /><br />Now, can I complain? Not necessarily, no. There is nothing wrong with it, and it is not falsely advertised; you get what you see, and most importantly, you get what you pay for.<br /><br />Much more highly recommended in my book, however, is the $7 "Deluxe Red Maple" ink pen knife. That knife has a blade sharpened symmetrically on both sides of the edge, whereas this one has a single-sided edge. The other one has a blade sizable enough to justify its existence; in my opinion, this pen-knife does not.<br /><br />If/when mine breaks, will i buy a new one? Yes, indeed I will, because it is a relatively nice looking pen for $4.
when i got the knife i thought it was very good, and then pen worked well too. but after about a day the ink started to go and when i tried pulling the knife out, the side with the pen (the handle side) came off instead! with some super glue it'll work fine though. I still wish the ink would last though.
