Awesome canteen. Completely new! Surprisingly light and heavy duty. Capacity is same as ww2/Vietnam era plastic usgi canteen, but weighs less, and has better camo pattern than just simple o.d. Green. Camo pattern works great in talk grass/weeds, next to trees, and mixes well with other camo for a breakup/multicam effect...even with o.d. Green! Well worth it! I'll probably be ordering a couple more to keep in the truck.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

For $4.99, you can't go wrong. It carries water well, and the metal cup actually boils water without problem. Believe it or not, not all metal is capable of withstanding direct heat. I've tried to boil water in cheap aluminum cans before and they melted! The cup provided with this canteen can definitely withstand the heat.
The camo is unique, but cool. The belt and straps all fit snuggly, which I happen to like. All in all, it's a great deal, and a great item to have out in the Bush.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

These canteens are a great deal for collectors and campers alike! These canteens are from the very last few years of the old East German Army, prior to the re-unification.......... so it's amazing to find these still available and in new and unused condition! Synthetic "leather" straps (rubberized fabric?), great little metal cup and good quality plastic bottle with the always cool, rain pattern camo cover. With all of that, how could you go wrong with these?!!Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

OK, I noticed a couple of cons on this canteen. For starters, I do not like the strap on the case. It fits too tight on my canteen and the belt loop is too tight as well. The camo is unique, but tell you the truth, I've never seen it in my life. But, it is a $5 canteen and it does serve it's purpose very well. Not to mention it comes with a metal cup to boil water and drink from. Usually, they are about $10 everywhere else online so think of it as buying a $5 cup with a free canteen.Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes

I really like this canteen. The cup is also a really cool addition. The canteen holds a good amount of water and fits easily in a jacket pocket, and the cloth skin is removable and does a great job keeping the water cool. I've had the same water in mine for almost 5 hours now and its still pleasantly cool. awesome canteen, I recommend it!
